Welcome to the Holy Family Catholic Church, Swindon!

We are a Catholic Community inspired by the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.

Holy Family Catholic Church is established in the year 1969 and is functioning under the Diocese of Clifton with a vibrant community.  The Holy Family Church focuses on the spiritual renewal of the people in Swindon. The Church becomes a center of propagation of Eucharistic devotion and a reconciling center in administering the sacrament of Confession. The Eucharistic Jesus is publicly exposed for adoration from 5.00 pm to 6.00 pm on Fridays.  This parish exuberates faith, enthusiasm and love.

Parish Priest's Message

I am sure you may have heard about the Synod of Bishops in Rome 2023. It is about the Synodality of the Church. In this journey together of the Ecclesial Community of Faith, the Pope invites us to reflect on Public Worship, Communion and Mission of the church. â€‹

A questionnaire has been sent to all local churches across the world, for everyone to have the opportunity to make their contribution on the way forward for us as a pilgrim church, in faithfulness to our life and mission.

It is natural and understandable that while so many have a lot to say, some others may have little to say at the moment. However, in all these, we are invited as a church to listen. It is time to listen to the voice of the people; to listen to the spoken and unspoken words of men and women of our time. We are invited to listen to the cries of the marginalized and the groaning of the earth and environment. It is time to be attentive to the signs of our time; as well as what the Spirit is saying to us in different cultures - ancient and modern.

Isn't it time to allow people to tell us how to be church in our time? Just like the day of Pentecost, we need to allow the Spirit to move men and women of all tribes and nations to speak in their own tongues, and to be open to listen that we might understand them beyond what we already know.

We pray that the forthcoming Synod will be the beginning of a new age in the life of the church; a renewal that will heal every part of the Mystical Body of Christ that needs healing and restoration.

Come Holy Spirit and fill the hearts of your children, and kindle in us the fire of your love. Come, oh generous Spirit and renew the face of the earth through your beloved bride, the Pilgrim Church. Amen.
